Hello! I am a PhD student in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, working under Dr. Tiffany Barnes and Dr. DK Xu. My research connects artificial intelligence and computing education, with emphasis on human-AI co-intelligence (how students, developers, and educators collaborate with AI systems) and designing trustworthy, adaptive, and pedagogically grounded tools that enhance these collaborations.
Here are my current research projects:
- MerryQuery: A GenAI-powered assistant that provides personalized, reliable guidance to students and educators by adapting to course materials and the preferences of students and instructors.
- ParenTeenTalk: Developing a framework for using GenAI to produce parent-teen conversations and expert feedback to be used for parental training in sexual health communication.
- LLMs in Classrooms: Training K-12 educators on integrating generative AI tools into their teaching practice.
- Developers and LLMs: Investigating how developers use LLMs in their workflow and the implications for software development practices.
I also focus on enhancing the learning experience of novice programmers by analyzing coding patterns, identifying struggles, and developing intelligent support tools through educational data mining.
I am always eager to collaborate with other researchers to develop tools that make learning easier and more effective. If you’re interested in educational technology or AI, feel free to reach out!
